'Baking' with fruit funk - healthy apple donut

We at Fruitfunk love fruit, but sometimes just a piece of fruit gets a bit boring. It's much more fun to make a real party out of your fruit snack. That is why we have come up with a responsible alternative to the donut. A donut made entirely of fruit and some cottage cheese. You can make it as beautiful as you want. It's also fun to let your children help decorate their own donut.

What do you need?

  • Apples (about 4 slices per apple)
  • Low-fat quark
  • Bag of Fruit Funk of your choice ( strawberry , banana/peach or fruit hearts blueberry )
  • Your children's favorite fruit. For example: berries, raspberries, kiwis, bananas, mango. (Can also be frozen fruit)

Apple Donut

Let's start!
Wash the apple(s) and cut into slices of approximately 1 centimeter. Now make a hole in the center of the apple slices with an apple corer. If you don't have an apple corer, you can also use a paring knife. The base is there, now it's time to make the healthy 'icing'. For white 'icing' you simply use low-fat cottage cheese. If you want to give the cottage cheese a nice color, mix it with fruit. We made purple cottage cheese (berries) and pink cottage cheese (raspberries). You make this by blending some low-fat cottage cheese with fruit with a nice color. Divide the (fruit) curd evenly over the apple slices. Now comes the fun part, the topping! Your children can help with this. First make sure the toppings are cut into nice pieces. You can decorate the donut with fruit that you like and that you like. We chose to use pieces of raspberries, berries, kiwi, mango and banana. We also add some Fruitfunk sweets to complete the festive apple donut.

Enjoy your healthy donut!
